Dorothy completed her Bachelor Degree in Public Health at the University of the Philippines Institute of Public Health and went on to the Fatima College of Medicine in Manila where she completed her degree as a Doctor of Medicine. Dorothy worked as a Registered Nurse on the medical-surgical/oncology floor at Tacoma General Hospital while completing a Master Degree in Family Nurse Practitionership at Pacific Lutheran University.
