"I highly recommend Dr. Jain for gastrointestinal (GI) procedures and issues! She cares about her patients and is literally a life saver. For the last 20 years she has been my doctor for colonoscopies. She has removed many polyps in my colon that if left unchecked could have become cancerous. At the end of August I saw her for my heartburn & coughing issues. She recommended she performed an endoscopy. The results showed I had small hiatl hernia as well as a polyp in my duodenum. The polyp biopsy results came back precancerous. Even though Dr. Jain was booked months out, she and her staff figured out a time that she could remove the polyp just a few days after the diagnosis. Dr. Jain is amazing. And her whole team of medical personnel, staff and administrators are wonderful."

"No one wants to have a colonoscopy but WA GI, Dr. Philo and staff made it as positive an experience as possible! I appreciated receiving instructions along the way before the procedure so that I would come prepared. Check-in was smooth, staff explained what they were doing. All very professional and caring. Dr. Philo spent time with me explaining the process before and visited me after the procedure to discuss findings. Recovery was uneventful. Staff assured I was stable before discharge!"

"Just completed my third adventure with a colonoscopy at Washington GI (The Waldron Center) with Dr Donner and staff and have to say while I don't exactly look forward to my next one in 7 yrs I certainly don't, in any way, dread it either. Frankly the most painful part was watching the video they send multiple messages to watch about "how to make the prep easier". I got to the point I wanted to open my own vein. The presenter (a GI doc from Dartmouth) was condescending and irritating and never actually got around to any useful information. The information and instruction that comes with your prep kit and the center are far superior and given how wonderful the staff is there I am quite sure a simple phone call to them would get you an answer to any concerns. The Waldron center is exceptionally comfortable for both patient and the 'driver' waiting for you. The theme is classic films and they have a mini theater with films running and their pre-op rooms have old movie themes. Both times I was started out in the "Sound of Music" room. The mural on the wall is Julie Andrews , arms spread in the field of grass where she is singing "The hills are alive with the sound of music". Am I the only one that finds this hysterically funny given I was there for a colonoscopy and my colon would be filled with air by the end of the procedure and indeed the hills would be alive with the sound of music? Every single member of the staff was warm, welcoming and I felt very competent (As an RN I can be pretty critical of less than excellent care and I know the difference between fluff and actual care). So, overall SIX stars from me!"

"I thought it would take months to get an appointment and it didn't. The staff was very caring and kind and helped to put my mind at ease. The doctor was extremely professional, confident, and informative which allowed me to relax and trust he and his team at the peak of my anxiety over the procedures. I don't remember closing my eyes, but woke up, what seemed like a minute later, in recovery. The doctor shared his overall observations right away which was great. Ask for portal information before you leave. I didn't and a request option is not available online."

"There was only one interaction that I experienced as intrusive, and it has to do with the medical culture as much as the individual interactions. For Individuals who struggle with eating disorders, self image, perception of self, or simple anxiety management , allowing personal choice strengthens ones willingness to exercise their ownership/responsibility regarding their own health. Your check in process is linear and includes areas that individuals may experience as intrusive. That is not to say they are not critical to care. However, On a first visit, it may be advisable to give the person choice regarding which markers are needed. For example, weight may not be comfortable for some who struggle with that. Allow the individual who is in charge of their own health to have a voice in what they choose to use as check in markers, unless it is driven medically. Requiring weight and height and other things as medically necessary. When all that is occurring as a consult Experienced as intrusive. A simple remedy of that would be to say. Are you available to be weighed in or to be measured for height or are you available for blood pressure or temperature. Of course. If there is a medical procedure, being done, that requires those things for anesthesia. Or determining overall health. I would ask even still that while necessary, giving the person, the option without an attitude would be They're beneficial then expecting them to fall in line. Because it will make you look bad if they do not. I received at this office was really good. Exception what's the check in process. Allowing for individuals to determine how they get checked into your place of business seems only appropriate."

But that was supposed to make for a more accurate reading, so it's worth it. I had to drink half the solution the evening before the procedure and then get up at 5am to drink the rest (5 hours before my appointment). For the first time the solution did its job without making me feel sick. My appointment ran late, and my husband was called to pick me up when I was supposedly done a good 40 minutes too early. When I started functionality I was sitting in a chair and my wife came in and said that didn't take long. Overall the procedure is not unpleasant and you don't feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. The worst part is the preparation leading up to the actual procedure and even that is not that bad."

Paul had a challenging time to get my veins to pop up but he persisted and got it the first time- a real pro. The anesthesiologist explained the medication she was using.
